photo-0120photo-0118photo-0119Houston’s is a chain American food restaurant that works diligently to create a dark, cozy, classic feel.  As far as chain atmospheres go this is one of the best, its not cheesy and there’s no fake memorabilia anywhere.  Think low lighting, dark woods, paintings of racing dogs.  This ambiance is not broken at the bathroom door.

What you get is not quite a Michael Corleone, look-for-the-gun-behind-the-toilet experience, but maybe its second cousin from Cleveland.  Its a good place to eat too, and I recommend the Thai steak salad.  Some people swear by that cheesy artichoke stuff too.  Throw in a beer and your salad has turned into a 40 dollar lunch.  Pow.

Design – 8 A thorough, clean design that doesn’t fall apart at the details.  A combo of white tile, stained woods, marble and stainless steel that really flows with the style of the dining room.

Cleanliness - 9 I’d eat off it but my food was at the table.  And that’s disgusting.  No.

Layout - 9 Simple and organized.

Extra Credit – 8 Some fancy hand soap from L’Occitane, that’s gotta count for something.
